Hardwood Floor Installation - Banhart Remodel job

Finished w/o being finished

Thanks to this site & all the helpful tips, tricks and suggestions, I was able to finish this 320 SQ Ft Room in just under two days time. With Help from my neighbor, we tore out the old stained carpet & pad, & was able to staple down the new wood with relative ease.

The only problem we had was getting the floor around the staircase to tie into the existing hardwood. Seems the Staircase when built wasn't exactly square. It was off a complete inch as a matter of fact. But we were able to rip down a few boards and got it pretty seamless. The only people who really will notice is me, since I'm the one who actually did it, or a professional floor installer. Well that & my neighbor, but as he so eloquently states.. "I don't have to see it from my house." What good is a neighbor if they don't bust your chops now & then :-)

Two people got this job done just fine, however one extra set of hands would have made the job that much faster. Someone to sort the wood into sizes, finding the right piece to fit on an end run, or cut when necessary, One person to lay the runs down, & one to Run the Hammer\Stapler would have been ideal. But Over All The wife is very pleased & that's what is most important.

Now On to Sanding & finishing...

More to come I'm sure!!!
